AUTHORIZATION FOR MAYOR, CITY MANAGER, AND THE CITY ATTORNEY TO SIGN THE PINELLAS COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH UNIT MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT

NOTE: This is an agreement between the City and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. The cost of the proposed agreement is $85,880.00 a year, split into quarterly payments of $21,470.00. This agreement will remain in effect for five years from the date of execution. This agreement is to provide a full-time Crisis Response Specialist who will work in partnership with the Pinellas Park Police Department staff on mental and behavioral health related calls for service. The Mental Health Unit will also provide follow-up care and referrals to long-term case management for those in need to reduce repeated calls for service.
Recommendation
ACTION: (Approve-Deny) Authorization for the Mayor, the City Manager, and the City Attorney to sign the Pinellas County Mental Health Unit Memorandum of Agreement.
