AUTHORIZATION FOR THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN LENCO AGREEMENT AND PURCHASE A LENCO ARMORED RESCUE VEHICLE FUNDED BY UASI GRANT AND FEDERAL FORFEITURE FUNDS

NOTE: This agreement and contract with Lenco Armored Vehicles is for the purchase of a Lenco Bearcat Armored Rescue Vehicle. Lenco Armored Vehicles is located at 10 Betnr Industrial Drive, Pittsfield, MA 01201. The total cost of the Bearcat Armored Rescue Vehicle is $510,320.00. In 2023, the police department received approval for funding from the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to acquire this vehicle. The UASI Grant will cover $365,178.00 of the total cost. The remaining balance of $145,142.00 will be covered by Federal Forfeiture Funds, specifically allocated for the purchase of equipment and armor for the vehicle. This amount will be charged to forfeiture account 104-212-5-621-08. This armored rescue vehicle will be deployed during critical incidents requiring enhanced protection and will also serve as a crucial asset during storm response and rescue operations. Pursuant to Florida Statute 932.7055(5)(c1), this certifies that the proposed expenditure complies with all State-required provisions for the use of these funds.

ACTION: (Approve-Deny) Authorization for the City Manager to sign the Lenco Agreement and for the police department to purchase a Lenco Bearcat Armored Rescue Vehicle.
