AUTHORIZATION FOR THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, DIVISION OF WATER RESTORATION ASSISTANCE FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO ORCHID LAKE - (FDEP Agreement NO. LPA0037)

NOTE: The City has been awarded $100,000 to perform a scope of work that will restore Orchid Lake to its original specifications. Phase I of the construction project will include removing built up sediment, debris, and invasive species.

 

The primary purpose/goal of the proposed project is to prevent street flooding. Consequential outcomes will include improved stormwater outfall into Joe's Creek, reduction of future mosquito infestations, elimination of invasive species and sediment, and reduction of pollutant levels.

 

The total estimated project cost for Phase I is $200,000. A cash match of $100,000 is included in the City of Pinellas Park, Community Redevelopment Agency's FY 2018-2019 Capital Improvements Program.

 

 

Recommendation

ACTION: (Approve - Deny) Authorization for the City Manager to sign agreement NO. LPA0037 with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
